Knitted Christmas Tree at the War Memorial Building

One of the standout attractions in the village is the enchanting large knitted Christmas tree adorning the entrance of the War Memorial Building. This masterpiece was a labor of love crafted by numerous local knitters who dedicated hundreds of hours to its creation. A couple of dedicated helpers diligently stitched the tree together over several days, culminating in a stunning display that is sure to captivate all who lay eyes on it.

Reindeer and Sleigh Display at Bosun’s Bar

A special shoutout goes to Barry O’Shaughnessy from The Prospect for his unwavering support in bringing the whimsical Reindeer and Sleigh display to life on the roof of Bosun’s Bar. Local artist Olive Breach lent her artistic talents to paint these festive icons, while Scaffold Connect Ltd. generously provided the scaffolding for the display, adding a touch of magic to the village skyline.

New Additions to the Village

In the upcoming year, the village will welcome a new working art studio on Central Terrace, where Times Media was previously located. Additionally, the Vanilla premises on Picton Street has been leased, with Howick Trading Post currently setting up shop at 14 Moore Street.
