Detective Superintendent Barry Vincent revealed that the police called the same number at 11:47 pm and spoke to a man who confirmed his name and address. The police informed him they would attend the premises without specifying a precise time. While en route to the address, police received a call from an individual on River Road in Parramatta, reporting a woman hanging from the seventh-floor balcony of a high-rise unit block. This call came around 1:40 am, with police arriving on the scene just a minute later at 1:41 am. They found the woman in the driveway of the unit block with critical injuries, unfortunately, she could not be revived and died at the scene.

The woman, believed to be 39 years old, has not yet been formally identified. However, the police confirmed the arrest of a 40-year-old man who they allege was the woman’s partner. Detective Vincent stated that the man they spoke to on the phone earlier was the same individual now in custody. It was revealed that the woman fell from the man’s residence, although she was believed to live elsewhere.

Furthermore, it was disclosed that the police had previous interactions with the couple, but it was unclear if they were currently in a relationship. The man reportedly had an Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) for his protection, but until the woman is officially identified, it cannot be confirmed if the same AVO pertained to her.
