So, like, the police watchdog has spilled some more beans about their investigation into this dude, former Deputy Commissioner Jevon McSkimming. He bounced on Monday, leaving everyone scratching their heads. Both the Independent Police Conduct Authority and the police are on the case, sniffing out all the deets.
The IPCA dropped the bomb on Thursday, saying they’re looking into allegations of misconduct by McSkimming after some random person complained. They’re also checking if any other cops or employees messed up in dealing with the whole situation. The investigations are on the fast track, but they can’t give us a timeline for when they’ll be done. McSkimming peaced out as the second big cheese cop in the country after being under the microscope for four months by the IPCA and the police.
RNZ spilled the tea earlier about some questionable content found on McSkimming’s work computer. The IPCA investigations manager, Stu Graham, mentioned on Wednesday that they’re digging into how the police handled the accusations against McSkimming. Not really sure why this matters, but hey, it’s news.
