Australia and England Set to Clash in ICC Champions Trophy as India’s Demands are Met

This rule also applies to the final on March 9, ensuring that all of India’s matches, including their highly anticipated group match against Pakistan on February 23, will be hosted in Dubai.
The decision to allocate matches to specific venues comes in the wake of India’s refusal to play in Pakistan, citing government advice. India has not competed in Pakistan since 2008, following the tragic Mumbai terror attacks later that year and subsequent security concerns.
In a landmark move, the ICC has reached an agreement to accommodate India’s concerns by ensuring that they will not have to play in Pakistan during the upcoming tournaments. In return, Pakistan will be assigned neutral venues when India hosts the 2025 women’s World Cup and co-hosts the 2026 men’s T20 World Cup with Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Pakistan will not play in India in the 2024/27 cycle, as per the agreement.
